Michelle and Alex

A wedding in the family! It was a long time in the planning, but my sister Michelle finally married her dream man, Alex; and I was so very privileged to capture their beautiful day.

Now, I am not a wedding photographer (I usually stick to the diva's and spunky boys of the non-talking variety, and playing silly games with the one's who can talk), but there was no question of me sitting idly by and being a guest. For one, I would have probably annoyed another tog by getting in the way!

Coledale holds a very special place in their hearts. It's not only where they held their very first market stall for their growing business, Soul Sandals, but also where they spend many weekends camping over the past 10 years.

Their boho wedding was to take place on the beach that they love, however the rain Gods were to dictate otherwise, and so it was a late call to have both the ceremony and reception at Austinmer Surf Club. Wouldn't you know that the Gods played us all and bypassed Coledale altogether!

Nevertheless, it was a moving and touching ceremony. Made even more poignant by the fact that it was the first time in 11 years that our entire family were together again (as the night wore on, the story got a little wilder and before you knew it, it was "decades" that we were all as one!).

Dad sang Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love", the band rocked (Contraband - geddit?), Michelle wore stunning Swarovski Crystal AMORE Barefoot Sandals by Starlite Creations, there were funny and moving speeches ( one by yours truly). All in all, it was a very special time shared by our family, new and long time friends.
