A session fee of $200 is required to book your date (we pencil in approximately 1 week following your due date which of course is only tentative). I only schedule several sessions to allow for movement.

This covers my time and talent, professional hand-editing of all gallery images, and the hosting of your own private on-line viewing gallery. Following your session it also includes personal hand-delivery to your door (location pending).

Prior to your commitment I am also available to discuss your needs, and my studio is open to any who wish to see my space and the products I offer.

Your newborn session runs for approximately 1-3 hours. Babies are unpredictable and some will sleep on cue, and others will need some soothing and possible top ups. I like to take my time, however taking into consideration all the variables that can occur. Mums and dads also need some care! You are sleep deprived and anxious. I get it! I hope to see you put your feet up and watch it all unfold with a well deserved cuppa.

In-studio sessions are held in my beautiful space in Woronora; blessed with north facing light and an assortment of props, blankets and wraps.

In the private sanctuary of your home I like to also find lovely light; a large window and an open space is all I need to ensure the most of the session. I bring a selection of props, blankets and wraps.

In every session I do take a variety of images; close ups, wrapped, semi-wrapped, several poses and ultimately some nudie ones. I yield approximately 20 plus fully hand-edited images to the gallery in colour - with a few selected signature black&white.

As the resident newborn photographer at Kareena I have a fabulous relationship with all midwives, nurses and doctors. After 12+ years I have introduced hundreds of babies through the lens!

In-house hospital sessions are complimentary for all my mums; studio/home sessions require a small session fee if a hospital shoot is not suitable during your stay. Most of the private rooms at Kareena are light filled although there is the occasional stormy day that might impact on the lighting. In such situations a reflector or flash might be used.

The session is approx 45 min - 1 hour long. Within the hospital environment there are doctors visits, heel prick tests, hearing tests, feeding every few hours - etc, so my time is limited. I ask that bub is fed prior to the session to ensure we get the best possible outcome, which is a sleeping baby! in the short time we have. I do also ask that a home or studio shoot is booked for sibling/family shoots.

Despite the limited time these sessions are conducted exactly as a full in-studio or home shoot. I still bring a selection of props, blankets and wraps, backdrop stand and posing pod. Your room becomes my studio, and I will still deliver approx 20+ images to your gallery. Make no mistake - this is not your standard hospital photo with that lovely stripey hospital blanket. It is a boutique photography session with bells and whistles. I take bookings almost daily for limited morning times.

When I do schedule bookings for the hospital shoots I do ask that you carefully read my brochure which has all my pricing. Whilst my prices do reflect the quality and time I spend giving you a boutique session I do realise that this is not for everyone. As Kareena is a private and upmarket facility, so my photographic sessions also reflect that. I will not be offended if you say “no thanks”.

Following the newborn session all images are carefully reviewed and selected for editing. Unless otherwise indicated, an image is selected for a sneak peak on social media (Facebook/Instagram) and I encourage all my clients to either tag or like this, and show your loved ones! Besides keeping my social media active it also reflects my editing style and gives you a taste of what is to come with the final gallery.

My hand-editing does take a little bit of time. I am methodical and very particular with all my images, removing scratch marks and blemishes, yet leaving that real baby skin. I may also incorporate composites and digital backdrops to enhance and broaden the gallery to give you much more than you bargained for!

Finally, the fully edited images will be completed and a private on-line gallery will be provided for your viewing. These are low resolution and watermarked. Downloading and screenshots are strictly prohibited. You will see every image in colour - with maybe a few selected black&white. If at any time you wish to see an image in b&w please let me know.

Overall, this process takes about 5-10 working days, unless otherwise stated.
